A pause, simply soaking in afternoon sun, small arms wrapped about my neck.
The arm, grown long in seven years, intertwined in mine, speaking of our hearts laced in the soul space shared between a mama and her boy.
The tiny toddling across crunching leaves that speak of loss and renewal. This uneven adventure over tree roots and mole hills.
The chasing giggles of joy spread wide between their brother-hearts.
The challenges offered and met. The full-throttle tumbling when limbs catch together. And they both emerge laughing from that place that makes you wish you could stop time. Just for this moment. Just hold on a little longer.
These are the treasures of this day. This hallowed space of Sabbath rest. This moment that we are only present. Only connected.
Bound in Love. To Him that is Love.
This is real Living. Breathing each other in.
Resting in the glow of this Gift of family.
This Gift of Rest.
"The amazing grace of the Master, Jesus Christ, the extravagant love of God, the intimate friendship of the Holy Spirit, be with all of you."
2 Corinthians 13:14 the Message
